田久保静香 個展 / Shizuka Takubo’s Solo Exhibition

西洋での紅茶文化は日本の茶の湯の影響を受け広がったと言われており、貴族の憧れとして、また女性の嗜みとして変容してきた。アフタヌーンティーの場において女性達は美しいドレスに身を絡い、部屋を装飾しカップの選定も徹底的に行うようになった。女性達にとってカップ＆ソーサーは女性の指先の延長にある装身具、ジュエリ一の一部としての役割を果たすようになった。そんなカップ＆ソーサーを美術作品として評価に値するものとする為、田久保は日本独自の手法を用いながら、一点一点手捻りで制作する。実用性のある器と美的鑑賞作品を両立させるのは至難の世界であり、今なおその挑戦の道を歩んでいるように見える。 未来を見据えて現代陶芸界を切り開いていく田久保の華麗なる作品群をぜひお愉しみくださいませ。 Tea culture in the West is said to have spread under the influence of the Japanese tea ceremony, which has been transformed into an aristocratic pursuit and a women's etiquette. Women at afternoon tea were dressed in beautiful dresses, decorated their rooms, and selected their cups and saucers thoroughly. The cup and saucer became an extension of a woman's fingertips, an accessory, a piece of jewelry. In order to make these cups and saucers worthy of recognition as works of art, Takubo creates each piece by hand, using a technique unique to Japan. It is extremely difficult to achieve both practical use and aesthetic appreciation of a work of art, and he still seems to be on the road to achieving this challenge.
