このたび桃青京都ギャラリーでは、愛知県瀬戸市を拠点に活動する陶芸家・山口真人による個展を開催いたします。
瀬戸赤津の窯元「西山窯」六代目として生まれた山口は、織部、志野、黄瀬戸、御深井など、桃山陶以来の伝統技法を深く掘り下げながら、現代的な感覚によって独自の表現へと昇華してきました。特に、複数の織部釉を掛け合わせた大胆な造形と、「琳派織部」と自ら名付けた装飾性豊かな作品群は、国内外で高い評価を受けています。
山口の作品の大きな魅力は、圧倒的な造形力と、土と釉薬が織りなす豊かな景色にあります。茶碗やぐい呑といった小品においても、正面だけに留まらず、あらゆる角度から異なる表情が立ち上がり、使うことでさらに新たな魅力が現れます。その堂々とした存在感は、広い海外の空間においても強い印象を放ち、多くのコレクターを惹きつけてきました。
近年は、「琳派織部」シリーズをさらに発展させる一方で、鋭利なフォルムを持つオブジェ作品にも意欲的に取り組んでいます。侍の兜を思わせる作品群には、槍術と武勇に優れ、「鬼武蔵」と称された戦国武将・森長可のイメージが投影されており、織部釉の流れや窯変による景色とともに、山口ならではの力強い世界観を形作っています。
本展では、代表作である「琳派織部」の茶碗をはじめ、酒器、花器、食器、そして大型オブジェまで、新作を含む約150点を一堂に展示いたします。茶陶から現代的な立体作品に至るまで、山口真人の現在地をご覧いただける貴重な機会となります。

At Tosei Kyoto Gallery, we are pleased to present a solo exhibition by ceramic artist Masato Yamaguchi, who is based in Seto City, Aichi Prefecture.
Born as the sixth-generation head of the Nishiyama Kiln in Akazu, Seto, Yamaguchi creates powerful contemporary works rooted in the traditional Momoyama ceramic techniques of Oribe, Shino, Kiseto, and Ofuke. In particular, his richly decorative “Rinpa Oribe” series has received high acclaim both in Japan and internationally.
One of the greatest attractions of Yamaguchi’s work lies in its overwhelming sculptural presence and the rich landscapes created through clay and glaze. Even in smaller works such as tea bowls and sake vessels, each angle reveals a different expression, and new charms emerge through use. Their commanding presence leaves a strong impression even within large overseas spaces, captivating collectors around the world.
In recent years, while further developing his “Rinpa Oribe” series, Yamaguchi has also been actively creating sharply formed sculptural objects. These works, reminiscent of samurai helmets, reflect the image of Mori Nagayoshi, the Sengoku-period warrior known as “Oni Musashi,” renowned for his skill with the spear and extraordinary bravery. Combined with the flowing Oribe glazes and dramatic kiln effects, they create a uniquely powerful world distinctive to Yamaguchi.
This exhibition will feature approximately 150 works, including new pieces, ranging from his signature “Rinpa Oribe” tea bowls to sake vessels, flower vases, tableware, and large-scale sculptural works. It will be a rare opportunity to experience the current breadth of Masato Yamaguchi’s artistic practice, from tea ceramics to contemporary sculptural expression.

・午前10時50分までに当ギャラリー前にお並びいただいたお客様を対象に、整理番号付き入場券を抽選にて配布いたします。
・午前11時より、整理番号の早い順にご入場いただきます。
※入場券の抽選配布は、公平性を保つためのものです。早くお並びいただいても、必ずしも若い番号が配布されるわけではございませんので、あらかじめご了承ください。
《整理番号付き入場券に関する注意事項》
・入場券はお一人様につき1枚のみ有効です。ご同伴者がいらっしゃる場合は、それぞれに入場券が必要となります。
・整理番号付き入場券をお持ちの方のご購入はお一人様1点までとさせていただきます。
・整理番号の呼び出し時にご不在の場合は、次の番号の方をご案内いたします。
・券を紛失された場合や、券の再発行はできませんので、紛失にご注意ください。
・入場券はご本人様のみ有効であり、譲渡・転売は固くお断りいたします。
・整理番号付き入場券は、ご希望商品の購入を確約するものではありません。展示作品には限りがあり、完売となる場合もございます。あらかじめご了承ください。
・ご入場は原則お一人ずつとなり、滞在時間は最大10分に制限させていただきます。
《10時50分以降にお越しのお客様》
・午前10時50分を過ぎてからお並びいただいた場合、整理番号付き入場券の配布はいたしません。
・その場合、先着順で列をお作りいただき、整理番号付き入場券をお持ちのお客様の入場が全て終わった後に、順番にご入場いただきます。
本展をより多くのお客様にお楽しみいただけるよう、ご理解とご協力を賜りますようお願い申し上げます。

【Information Regarding Admission & Sales Procedures】
To ensure that as many visitors as possible may enjoy the exhibition comfortably and fairly, we kindly ask for your understanding regarding the following admission and purchasing procedures for the opening day.
《For Visitors Arriving on the Opening Day (Friday, June 5)》
• Visitors who arrive and line up in front of the gallery by 10:50 AM will be entered into a lottery for numbered admission tickets.
• Admission will begin at 11:00 AM in the order of the ticket numbers.
Please note that the numbered tickets are distributed by lottery to ensure fairness. Arriving earlier does not guarantee a lower admission number.
《Important Notes Regarding Numbered Admission Tickets》
• Each admission ticket is valid for one person only. Accompanying guests must each obtain their own ticket.
• Customers holding a numbered admission ticket may purchase one artwork per person only.
• If you are absent when your number is called, the next number will be admitted first.
• Lost tickets cannot be reissued, so please keep your ticket in a safe place.
• Tickets are non-transferable and resale is strictly prohibited.
• Holding a numbered admission ticket does not guarantee the availability of a specific artwork. As all works are limited, some pieces may sell out.
• Admission will generally be limited to one person at a time, with a maximum viewing time of 10 minutes per visitor.
《For Visitors Arriving After 10:50 AM》
• Visitors arriving after 10:50 AM will not be eligible for the lottery distribution of numbered admission tickets.
• In this case, visitors will be asked to form a line in order of arrival and will be admitted sequentially after all numbered ticket holders have entered.
